We have not been to Cucina for a while so on the spur of the moment we revisited this restaurant once again and what a treat it was.

We walked in on a busy Saturday lunchtime and were shown to a table in a busy restaurant. The place was buzzing with quiet conversation and the sound of cutlery busy at work.

This restaurant decor is modern and stylishly understated with a style that only the Italians can pull off effortlessly.
I must mention that the toilets are so clean and tidy you could eat in them!

The tables are well laid out and spotlessly clean, giving spacious room for everyone.

The staff are well turned out, smart, polite, well groomed, clean and calmly go about their business with efficiency that one only finds in well run establishments that have retained the staff for a considerable time.
Too many restaurant forget that the service their customers receive is every bit as important as the food dished up.

We were served by Francesco and Antonio, who were absolutely first class and very knowledgeable about the menu. These guys have a pedigree in the restaurant business and it shows in the way they conduct themselves around the restaurant.

The food menu is varied and typically authentic Italian cuisine, with plenty of choice for every palate. Likewise the wine list is very good.

I wont bore you with the choices of dishes but I will tell you that the food is wonderfully presented to you on the plate, which shows the passion of the kitchen.

we each had one of the great starters, main courses of freshly made pasta, fresh fish, wonderful light flavorsome sauces and fresh vegetables topped off with deserts of freshly made Tiramisu and Cheese cake. A bottle of white and coffees. It was an absolute feast of the utmost quality and flavour. Plus complementary Amaretto palate cleanser all the way from Italy via Antonio’s Grand father.

Fantastic value for the top quality food and experience of about £116 which does not include service.

It is rare to eat in a restaurant where the whole experience is top notch, from the wonderfully relaxed ambiance, the hygiene, the decor, the service, the food and wine.

In fact it was so good that I immediately booked Sunday lunch for my mum and brother for the next day and they are really fussy eaters and they also loved the food and service here.

When I previously dined here it was a very good restaurant indeed but it has improved since my last visit and in my humble opinion it is now probably the best Italian restaurant I can think of in Essex, it really is that good.

Anyone who has read my reviews knows I am straight talking and give my honest opinion about the places I review regardless of the price tag or reputation.

This Italian restaurant is so so good. The food, service, ambiance, value for money, is second to none.
I will see you in there.
